Welcome to SpellBound Bindery. Originally known as "Janie's Handcrafted Journals." Janie began her journey with an extensive background in Fine Art and Graphic Design. While becoming passionate about bookbinding, she manifested a job at a restoration bookbindery, formerly known as Bessenberg Bindery. For many years she studied the delicate art of fine binding. Now taking these principals into her own designs, Janie richly designs the interrior and exterior of her journals and throws in a metaphysical twist of enchantement. So what you get is a very powerful handcrafted manifestation journal that is charged with reiki, it's own astrology birthdate, bind runes and manifestation oils as the binding types allow.
Each book is unique with hand sewn detail binding and custom designed pages. Books are infused with reiki energy. Hardcover books are made with reiki symbols and bind runes hidden in the construction of the book. Books contain positive written intentions in the parchmont construction of the book and dotted with manifestation oil. This leaves a light pleasent scent when your book is opened and lays flat. Once each book is complete, it is time stamped and carries its own date and time of birth (astrological birthday). These are exclusive series with special edition books for your own one of a kind treasure.
Hardcover books have a professionally rounded and backed spine that is delicately sculpted with a french hammer.
Each book is unique with hand sewn detail binding and custom designed pages. This book is handsewn on tapes.

Spellbooks and custom orders are handsewn with "stubs" in the texblock to expand the binding to allow for page tucking notes, photos, etc.
Mission
Each book is time stamped the minute it is finished, and this is marked on a custom bookplate in the back of each book. This detail gives each book it's own astrological birthdate, adding another layer to each book's own unique one-of-a-kind energy. Bookplates have a new beautiful design reflecting SpellBound Bindery's rebranding.

This is the spine of a hardcover book after it has been rounded. This is called the backing process. This process adds materials to the construction of your book ensuring it will not fall apart over time. This is also the phase where reiki symbols, bind runes and intentions are put into the construction of your book and finished with a touch of manifestation oil. The oil is encased in glue, so it will not compromise the book over time. It also gives a light pleasant smell when the book is opened.
